Flight Equipment
In order to maintain aircrafts safety, and make sure they land safely as well, many types of equipment are used in the aircrafts as well as on the ground. Equipment for flight must meet airline equipment codes, and it does everything from reading the outside conditions and transmitting them to the pilot, to automatically changing the airplane’s course because of some minute factor. When one is finished flying the aircraft during flight training, pro flight cleaning equipment is necessary for getting the dirt off of the plane, to protect it against weathering and corrosion.Flight instruments, flight suits, flight jackets, flight systems and everything else related to flying are always the most sophisticated items of their nature.
Flight Simulator Equipment
Flight simulator is a system that tries to replicate the experience of flying an aircraft as closely and realistically as possible. Flight simulators are widely used by the aviation industry for design and development and for the training of pilots and other flight deck crew in both civil and military aircraft. Using simulators, pilots have an opportunity to train for normal and emergency situations. Emergency situations include engine failures and failures of malfunctions or aircraft systems like flight instruments, electrics and so on.
Flight simulators come in various categories, such as Part-Task Trainers, Cockpit Procedures Trainers, and Full Flight Simulators. Part-Task trainers cover one or more aircraft systems, Cockpit Procedures Trainers are used for practicing drills and checks, while Full Flight Simulators are the most sophisticated ones.
System trainers are used to teach pilots how to operate different aircraft systems. Once pilots become familiar with the aircraft systems, they will pass on to cockpit procedures trainers, which are exact replicas of the cockpit instrument, switches and other controls. A full flight simulator replicates all aspects of the aircraft and its environment. Personnel in the simulator must wear seat belts as they do in real aircrafts.
Flight simulators are also widely used for research in various aerospace subjects. The simplest simulators resemble video games, and there are also very specific and expensive designs.
Many simulators come with Instructor Operating Stations, where an instructor can quickly create any normal and abnormal condition in the simulated aircraft or simulated environment, such as engine fires, electrical faults, lightning, oncoming aircraft and so forth. Many simulators enable the instructor to control the simulator from the cockpit.
Flight simulators are an essential element both in individual pilot and flight crew training. They help save time, money and lives. The cost of operating even an expensive Full Flight Simulator is many times less than if the training would be on the aircraft itself.
